2. 基本概念
FTA：GSM/WCDMA/LTE终端产品的全面型号认证，通过FTA测试的手机就被认为达到了GSM协议的要求，具有了能够进行实际应用的能力，可以作为商品生产了。同时，对生产厂商来说，也证明了自身的研发能力达到一定的水平。因此，FTA测试对手机生产商是一件有重要意义的工作。FTA通常包括两种，一种是900/1800/2100/2600MHz频段全面型号认证，叫做GCF；另一种是850/1900/1700MHz频段全面型号认证，叫做PTCRB。目前FTA已经降到自愿的测试范畴，通常不作为产品进入欧盟或其他国家的要求，但是有相当一部分运营商仍以FTA作为要求，特别是欧洲的运营商。
GCF：是900/1800/2100/2600MHz手机面向欧洲制式市场的一个FTA规范。测试的内容遵从GCF－CC，该文档大约三个月更新一次。
PTCRB：是850/1900/1700MHz手机面向美洲制式市场的一个FTA规范。测试的内容遵从NAPRD03，该文档大约三个月更新一次。
测试标准：GCF/PTCRB中的测试项遵从的GSM标准为3GPP 51.010。
PICS：以下是从3GPP 51.010节选出来的描述
Implementation Conformance Statement (ICS): A statement made by the supplier of an implementation or system claimed to conform to a given specification,
stating which capabilities have been implemented.
Protocol ICS (PICS): An ICS for an implementation or system claimed to conform to a given protocol specification.
PICS作为手机功能细节的一个描述，这样为我们在测试前把手机不支持的测试项去掉提供了判断依据，通常BALUN会在测试前PICS模板提供给客户，客户需要认真按照手机支持的功能填写。

5. 测试前客户需要提供的资料
PICS文件：BALUN会提供模板给客户填写。

6. 测试周期
通常需要四到六周，具体情况需要由手机支持的功能多少和测试进展的顺利程度来决定。
测试完成后客户可得到一份FTA的测试报告，其中包括书面版的和电子版的。
